With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Viola Kay Mitchell of Columbus, Indiana, born in Edinburgh, Indiana, who passed away on September 30, 2023 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Owen Whitlock and Rachel Whitlock (Gaddis); and her siblings, Robert Whitlock, William Whitlock, Ernie Whitlock, Douglas Whitlock, Justin Whitlock, Joyce Everroad and Betty Streval.
She is survived by: her husband Michael of Columbus; her children, Barbara Freeman Ritchie of Williamstown, Kentucky and William Freeman (Hillary) of Russell Springs, Kentucky; and her siblings, Frankie Whitlock (Edna) of Edinburgh, Carolyn Owen (Bill) of Edinburgh and Jessie Carter of Missouri. She is also survived by extended family including several nieces and nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.
