With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Verna L. West of Columbus, Indiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Verna left this world on February 16, 2025 at the age of 102, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Neiland R. Tatem and Emma Tatem (Richey); her husband Morris A. West; her son Thomas West; her granddaughter Ginger Gist; and her sisters, Patricia Dickson, Ruth Young, Mary Hoyt, Frances Howard Lehman and Evelyn Lange.
She is survived by: her daughter Joyce Sutton of Columbus; and her grandchildren, Bryan Fonner of Columbus, Holly Tourville of Warren, MI, Cinnamon Lewis of Georgia, Michael West of Georgia and Amanda West of Kansas. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (3300 Fairlawn Dr, Columbus, IN 47203). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
