He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Bryan Chavis and Frances Doris Chavis; his siblings, Anthony "Tony" Chavis and Cynthia "Cindy" Chavis-Taylor; his father-in-law Sidney Gabbard Jr.; and his brother-in-law Larry Gabbard.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Chavis; his sister Debra Lee (Bob); his son Kenneth Chavis (Pam); his granddaughter Isabella Chavis; his daughter Rebecca Quirino (Jesus); his mother-in-law Reba Gabbard; and his siblings-in-law, Sidney Gabbard (Sherry), John Gabbard (Leslie), Patricia Miller (Gary) and Carrie Willis (John). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
