He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford E. Kinsey and Martha M. Kinsey; and his siblings, Rex Kinsey, Alan Kinsey, Delbert Kinsey and Jackie Duke.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Kinsey; his children, Craig Barkhimer (Victoria), Amy Barkhimer and Angel Kinsey; his grandchildren, Thomas Barkhimer, Emma Barkhimer, Terry Thompson, Alex Thompson, Savannah Thompson and Caleb Kinsey; and his brothers, Sherrill D. Kinsey and Allan Kinsey. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
