He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Smith and Edna Graham Smith; and his siblings, David Smith, Richard B. Smith and Rachel McCray.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Young; his children, Lisa Wendel (Paul) of Columbus, Tony Smith of Columbus and Debbie Sims (Chad) of Columbus; his grandchildren, Cassandra Smith, Kyle Wendel (Beth), Caleb Smith (Nakisha), Cole Smith (Emily), Korey Wendel (Shelbi), Kaitlin Wendel-Snider (Caleb), Claudia Sims, Desiree Wilkerson (Jacob), Chloe Sims and Henry Sims; his siblings-in-law, Michael Percifield of Columbus and Penny Lopez (Mickey) of Franklin; and his nephew Andrew McCray (Joanne) of Florida. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
