Shirley Ann Davis Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Ann Davis of Columbus, Indiana, who passed away on January 28, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John H. Gates and Sarah R. Russell Gates; her former husband William D. Shafer; her husband John A. Davis; her son Gary Lee Shafer; her daughter-in-law Mary Walter-Shafer; and her siblings, George E. Gates, Frank P. Anderson, Edna M. Davis and Maxine Owens.
She is survived by: her son Donald "Donnie" Wayne Shafer of Columbus; her grandchildren, Katherine "Kate" Shafer of Atlanta, Georgia, Sophie, Zoe Shafer of North Vernon, Joshua Richardson (Allene) of Waldron and Hanna McBride of Columbus; and her great grandchildren, Elias, Kora Richardson and Morgan McBride. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund or East Columbus Christian Church.
