He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry McConnell and Marian McConnell (Rawson); his brother-in-law Robert Tomlinson; and his sisters, Mary Lartz and Verna McConnell.

He is survived by: his wife Kathleen (Stanley); his children, Evan and Aislin; and his siblings, Philip McConnell (Patricia), Karan Tomlinson, Tim (Susan), Scott (Jeff) and James Tomlinson (Jennifer).
