It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Phillip L. Rhode (Columbus, Indiana), born in Crawfordsville, Indiana, who passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Phillip may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Grant McKinley Rhode Jr. and Alice Lucille Holloway Rhode. He is survived by: his sister Pat Stonecipher (Don) of Columbus; his children, Jeff Byrd (Jennifer) of Plainfield, IL and Jennifer Schwinn (Hadyn) of Bookings, OR; and his grandchildren, Ryan and BriAnne. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Asbury United Methodist Church (1751 27th St, Columbus, IN 47201). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Oak Hill Cemetery (392 Oak Hill Rd, Crawfordsville, IN 47933).
Memorials may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church, The American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society.
