Lois Darlene Matthews Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lois Darlene Matthews of Columbus, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 12, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ollie Cox and Dorothy Thompson Cox; and her husband Harry W. Matthews. She is survived by: her children, Melinda Forney (Dennis) of Elizabethtown and Terry Matthews of Columbus; her grandchildren, Keith Forney, Dana Sims (Matt), Mica Gray (Chris), Megan Batton (Jeff) and Gunnar Matthews (Takyra); her great grandchildren, Logan Forney, Aiden Ritchie, Chase Forney, Isabell Lucas, Sierra Sims, Christian Gray, Dakoda McDaniel (Isaiah), Audrey Bloom, Kaila Batton, Wyatt Batton and Yeileigh Matthews; and her sister Linda Hibbs of Hope. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Homes and Crematory - Washington St (1029 Washington St, Columbus, IN 47201). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
