He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. Palmer and Nellie Wells Palmer; his siblings, Larry Palmer and Vicky Palmer; and his stepsiblings, Lee, Ray Jackson, Evelyn Eddelman, Kathy Jackson, Karen Jackson and Patty Palmer.
He is survived by: his wife Marsha G. Lindsay; his children, John Palmer (Kathy) of Columbus, Richard Palmer (Ashley) of Columbus, Jay Palmer of Columbus, Shawn Palmer of Columbus, Heather Palmer of Columbus, Devan Alderson (Ashley) of Columbus, Amber Palmer of Columbus, Ashley Palmer of Columbus and Buffy Cooney (Roger) of North Vernon; his stepchildren, Misty Miller of Edinburgh and Bobby Miller (Daphney) of Edinburgh; and his siblings, Duain Palmer (Pam) of North Vernon, Sadie Cress (David) of Columbus, Nancy Palmer of Seymour, Trudy Zimmerman of Greensburg and Mandy Beier of Hope. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
