It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Iva Sorgius of Columbus, Indiana, who passed away on January 27, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Iva Sorgius to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Skinner and Sarah Skinner (Moffitt); her former husband Gerald Barringer; and her siblings, Ruth Lankey, Thelma Land, LaVonne Taylor, Anise Gates, Chester Carl Skinner, Howard Skinner, Woodrow M. Skinner and Ralph Skinner.
She is survived by: her husband Bill Sorgius; her daughters, Linda Barringer of Columbus, Lois Kimery of Columbus and Deb Kreitl (Paul) of Indianapolis; and her stepchildren, Pat Doles (Joe) of Chicago, Judi Knies (Marty) of Greenwood, Mike Sorgius (Leanne) of Florida and Steve Sorgius (Barb) of Greenwood. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Iva to the First Christian Church Tower Fund or to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.
