Gertrude Opal Lucas Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gertrude Opal Lucas (Columbus, Indiana), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 12, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William B. Doty and Mildred J. Black Doty; her son Randy Lucas; her brother Steve Doty (Marcy); her brother-in-law Allen Reeves; and her niece Lisa Hurt.
She is survived by: her children, Melissa Gross (Steve) and Darin Lucas (Crystal); her daughter-in-law Carrie Nelson (Jamie); her grandchildren, Shelby Pollert (Noah), Kendra Duke (Mason), Kelsay Moore (Dayton), Sydni Young (Elijah), Caleb Gross, Hannah Gross, Samuel Gross, Sarah Gross, Kristen Nelson and Cameron Nelson (Bella); her great grandchildren, Austyn, Wyatt Pollert, Emmalynn, Waylon, Wrenley Moore and Raiden McDaniel; and her siblings, Sue Reeves, Lonnie Doty (Linda), Sandy Profitt (Don), Peggy Hurt (Tim) and Debbie Williams (David). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Homes and Crematory - Washington St (1029 Washington St, Columbus, IN 47201). A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or American Cancer Society.
