It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gerardo Fidel Chaves (Columbus, Indiana), who passed away on March 31, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Maria Silva of Chaves and Manuel Eliecer Chaves; his siblings, Nelly Palacios (Isac) and Milton Chaves (Violeta); his brothers-in-law, George, Adolfo and Isac; his wife Marlene Theresa Chaves (Mitchell); and his great grandchild Damien Tolman.
He is survived by: his siblings, Edith Hartman (George), Ghelma Olmedo (Adolfo) and Michaela Noboa (Nelson); his children, Michelle Spear (David) of Columbus, IN, Julie Albrecht (Kevin) of St. Louis, MO and William Chaves (Jennifer) of St. Louis, MO.; his grandchildren, Michael Dobson (Beth), Nicole West (Kevin), Aubrey Sublette (Dylan Cregar), Katelyn Sublette (Rickie Ozbun), Margaret Spear (Bryce Denning), Joe (Curt Shearer), Kathryn Chaves and Emma Chaves; his great grandchildren, Ethan Hudson, Riley Hudson, Dylan Hudson, Brandon Ruegge (Kaylee Peterson), Madison West, Emma West, Annie Albrecht, Nora Marlene Dobson, Arwen Dobson, Leo Reeves and Marlene Reeves; his great great grandchild Theodore Ruegge; his nephews, Byron Olmedo (Kelly) and Martin Olmedo; his niece Elise Olmedo; and his friends, Jose (Pepe), Donna Acosta and Pepe. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Little Flower Catholic Church (1264 Arch Terrace, Richmond Heights, MO 63117). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
