It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Lee Shafer (Columbus, Indiana), who passed away on November 19, 2019, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father William Donald. He is survived by: his mother Shirley A. Gates Shafer; his daughters, Sophie and Zoe Shafer; his stepchildren, Josh of Columbus and Hanna Richardson of Columbus; his brother Donald W. Shafer; and his niece Katherine Shafer of New York.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
