He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Long Nichols and Ernest Nichols; and his daughter Chelsea White. He is survived by: his children, Keandra Nichols of Columbus, Roslyn Nichols of Louisville, Lonnie Franco of Mississippi, Anna Brantley of Columbus, Indiana, Ernest Nichols Jr. of Seymour, Ernie Terrill Nichols of Columbus and Jerome Brantley of Columbus, Indiana; his siblings, Betty Hughes, Mary Lackey of Cincinnati, Ohio, Charles Nichols of Cincinnati, James Nichols of Kentucky and John Nichols of Columbus, Indiana; and his significant other Tammy Lane of Columbus, Indiana. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
