He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert "Pink" Ayers and Margaret Eleanor Seitz Ayers; his brothers, Allen Lee Ayers and Larry Neal Ayers; and his granddaughter Erica Dale Eddelman.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Jeanette Greathouse; his children, Steven Ayers (Lora) of Columbus, Michael Ayers (Lisa) of Columbus, Gary Ayers (Tammy) of Blaine, Kentucky, Susan Eddelman (Eric) of Brown County and Melissa Kirk (Jeff) of Taylorsville; his sisters, Patricia Ann Bradley (Benny) of Columbus and Kathleen Barbara Martinez of Columbus; his sister-in-law Carolyn Ayers of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Patrick Eddelman (Alexandria), Christopher Ayers, Daniel Ayers (Claire), Shelley Kirk and Aurdria Childers; and his great grandchildren, William, Eleanor Eddelman, Penelope Childers, Preston and Parker Ayers. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Rittman Family Funeral Home (3855 25th St, Columbus, IN 47203). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
