He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Townsend and Lydia S. Townsend (Baumes); and his siblings, Frances Townsend, Bob Townsend, Lawrence Townsend, Tom Townsend, Mary Lorey and Lola Holt (Dwight).
He is survived by: his brother Bill Townsend of Virginia; his wife Judy A. Townsend (Coffey) of Columbus; his daughters, Christina Townsend of Hope, Angie Bontrager (Earl) of Hope and Shila Ault of Florida; and his grandchildren, Caylin Reeves of Hope, Ryan Reeves of Hope, Deseree Ansley of Florida, Danielle Drysdale (Greg) of Hope, Adam Ault of Florida, Levi Bontrager of Hope and Shyann Ault of Florida. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
