He was predeceased by: his parent Charles Albert Chasteen (Niley Marie Stillabower Chasteen Armuth); and his wife JoAnn M. Schafstall. He is survived by: his children, Pat Chasteen (Janet) of Columbus, Bonnie Nolting (Bruce) of Columbus, Julie Phillips (Ross) of Columbus and Heather Krebs (Steve) of Columbus; his grandchildren, George Chasteen (Taylor), Megan Helt (Scott), Albert Nolting (Emily), Tyler Nolting (Polly), Rachel Fohne (Chad), Rebekah Natalie (Josh), Lucas Phillips (Kate), Jacob Charles Phillips (Yuliia), Adam Charles Krebs (Claire) and Sarah Jackson (Nash); and his great grandchildren, Karter, Myrella, Jasmine, Freya Nolting, Isabella, Leo Nolting, Faith, Kara Fohne, Micah Charles Natalie, Bennett Charles and Emmie Chasteen.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church (719 5th St, Columbus, IN 47201).
