She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles M. Ackenback and Edna C. Ackenback (Green); her husband James L. Overfelt; and her brother Robert Ackenback. She is survived by: her children, Bonita Surges (Chuck) of Indianapolis, Vicki Nelson (Dan) of Shelbyville, Jim Overfelt (Sharon) of Portland, TN and Steve Overfelt (Sarah) of Salem, SC; her grandchildren, Amy Fischer (Rihanek), Alison Seaborne, DJ Nelson, Lacy Lewis (Matt), Michael Nelson, Cassi Frazier (Chris), Jamie Izard (Jake), Andrew Overfelt (Megan), Jason Overfelt and Rylee Overfelt; and her siblings, Charles E. Ackenback, Dorene Breland and Carole Lewis. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
