He is survived by: his wife Judy; his daughters, Julie Lowe (Tim) and Kris Peters (Jeff); his grandchildren, Anna McCandless (Grant), John Lowe (Emily), John William Peters (Elizabeth) and Lilly Peters; his great grandchildren, DeForest McCandless, Leo Peters, CeCe McCandless and Everett Peters; and his sisters, Judy Browning and Jill Littlejohn (James).
Memorial donations may be given in memory of John to the Whitley County Community Foundation.
