He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess C. Rose and Nancy Lee Lay (Sanders); his brother Lonnie Lay; and his sister-in-law Diana Wyland. He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Maggie" Rose of Columbia City; his children, Samantha Coburn (Paul) of South Whitley and Jessie Rose, Jr. (Christi) of Pierceton; his grandchildren, Braxton Coburn, Brookelynn Coburn, Braydon Coburn, Vivian Gaerte, Gracelyn Rose and Jorja Rose; his siblings, William "Pete" Lay of Fort Myers, FL, Patricia Phipps of Taylors, S. C., Loretta Santaiti of North Beach, MD, Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Oakman of Fort Wayne and John Rose, Sr. of Fort Wayne; and his sisters-in-law, Marti Steele (Jim) of Columbia City and Patricia Hefley of Indianapolis.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home (600 Countryside Dr, Columbia City, IN 46725). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in memory of Jessie may be made towards his final expenses.
