He was predeceased by: his parents, Morgan Simmons and Fern Isabel Simmons (Hash); his former wife Yvonne M. Steichen; his daughter Pamela Lamie; his siblings, Bob, James, Ernie Simmons, Maxine, Lilly, Mary, Bonnie and Phyllis; and his children-in-law, Connie Simmons and Leverne Lamie.
He is survived by: his wife Carole A. Potter (Burrous) of Westfield, PA; and his children, Michael Simmons of Columbia City, Cheryl Talasleian (Lee) of Horseheads, NY, Bruce Simmons (Lisa) of Columbia City, Robert Simmons of Fort Wayne, Phillip Simmons (Michelle) of Columbia City and Neil Simmons of Churubusco.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Smith & Sons Funeral Home (207 N Main St, Columbia City, IN 46725). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
