He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Z. Smith and Dorothy E. Smith (Kropp); his sister Susan Bennett; and his granddaughter Melissa Pletcher. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Smith of Columbia City; and his daughters, Barbara J. Craig (Barry) of Columbia City, Debra S. Miller (Mark) and Michelle L. Wilson (Ronald) of Kimmell. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren.
