He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Teresa York (White); his great grandchildren, Brittany York (Jesse Bridges), Kelsea York (Danny Perdue) and Samantha Cooper (Kevin); his grandchildren, Felicia, Zachary, Zane, Nolan and Aubree; and his parents, William J "Bill" York and Doris L York.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you make contributions to Bethel Baptist Church.

“Sheila and I want to pass our deepest sympathies to Eric’s family. Our families grew up together in the WWCG with Eric and his family. I specifically remember 2 things about Eric that made him an incredible person. 1- Kindness- I can’t remember a time where he wouldn’t go out of his way to help anyone who needed i- and with that contagious smile. 2- Intelligence- Eric had the mindset that wouldn’t back down to a challenge until he figure out the correct solution- then executed it.
