He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Havener and Alta Havener (Martin); his wife Phyllis Williams; his children, Robert Havener Jr. (Bonnie) of Ft. Wayne, Rebecca Elonzae (George) of Fort Wayne and Richard Havener (Janice) of Ossian; his sister Jeanie Noffsinger (Joe) of Sturgis Kentucky; his daughter Ann Dahlkamp; his granddaughters, Amanda Salyer and Skye Snow; and his brothers, Chuck and Jerry Havener. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
