He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin Mayes and Grace Mayes (Swinford); and his brothers, Herman Mayes (Betty) and Harold Mayes (Jean). He is survived by: his children, Margaret Ann and Albert Wayne; his wife Arlene Mayes (Pascoe); his children, Margaret Sockwell (Raymond) and Albert Mayes (Kellie); his grandchildren, Adam Link (Kaufman), Sherry Kaye Link, Mandie Hawkins (Cortney), Jerry Steadman (Heather) and Laura Kazmierowicz (Peter); and his great grandchildren, Paige, Landyn Benskin, Kierstin, Sara and Jackie Steadman.
If friends desire, the family ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Salem United Methodist Church in Hillsdale, Indiana or the Helt's Prairie Cemetery.
