He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles H. Oaks and Ruth Clines Oaks; and his siblings, Lilly Mae, Wallace Oaks, Sr, Jack Oaks, Georgia Oaks, Charles "Newt" Oaks, Susie Merritt, David Merritt, Wozzie Mallon and Mike Mallon.

He is survived by: his wife Sue Rizer Oaks; his children, Arkie Oaks, Jr., Tina Cotten, David Cotten, Shelley Craft and Donnie Craft; and his grandchildren, Kristina Oaks, Rickey Cotten, Jinger Cotten, Trever Klyaic, Olivia Oaks, Brian Gossett, Abbie Reyes, Hayley Carroll, Ashley Oaks, Bailey Craft, Michael Pearman, Shayna Craft and Dallas Craft.
