He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Bowen and Juanita Bowen (Solomon); his child Linda Lou Bowen Foreman (Digman); his granddaughter Kathy Jo Bowen; and his brothers, Steven Bowen and Lawrence Bowen.

He is survived by: his children, Ricky Bowen and Pam Fields (Larry) of Claypool, IN; his daughter-in-law Lucinda Bowen of Anderson, IN; his siblings, Nadine Aldridge of Muncie, IN and James Bowen of New Albany, IN; his grandchildren, Christie, Mandy, Wil, Jennifer, Bridgette, Jessica, Roger, Ben, Brandy, Misty, Patrick and Kasie; and also, William Bowen (Debbie) of Claypool, IN and Michael "Butch" Bowen (Angie) of Richmond, IN.
