He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Surface and Irene Surface (Brown); his wife Tonya; and his brothers, David Surface and John Surface.
He is survived by: his sons, Ben Surface and Josh Surface (Indiana); and his sisters, Catherine Surface and Karen Brown (Sam).
Memorial donations in Richard's name may be directed to the American Legion Post #49, 301 N. Buffalo Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580 and would be appreciated by the family.
