It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Garry Lee Childers of Claypool, Indiana, who passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Garry Lee may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Childers and Esther Childers (Currens). He is survived by: his children, Holly Owens (Craig) of Silver Lake, Kelly Childers of Tampa and Christopher Childers (Kris) of Des Moines, Iowa; his grandchildren, Ethan Owens of Silver Lake, Eli Owens of Silver Lake, Cale Childers (Hannah) of Des Moines, Iowa and Kennedy Childers of Des Moines, Iowa; and his sister Diane Patrick of Nashville, Tennessee.. He is also survived by two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service (1241 Manchester Ave, Wabash, IN 46992). A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Lakeview Cemetery.
