He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Hughes and Anna Hughes (Mann); his wife Betty Hughes (Ooten); his daughter Ruth Ann Pate; and his brothers, Roger and Billy Hughes.
He is survived by: his brother Leonard Hughes (Karen); his niece Wendy Morelos (Apollo); and his nephew James "Artie" Hughes.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
