He is survived by: his wife Juanita Wilkerson; his children, John David Wilkerson (Tonya), William Anthony Wilkerson (Janet), Teresa Wallace (Tyrone), Kevin Wilkerson (Melissa) and Ruth Mullins (Quenton); his grandchildren, James Becht, Amy Wilkerson, Jennifer Wilkerson, John David Wilkerson, Jr., Ronald Wilkerson, Ashley Wilkerson, William Wilkerson, Josh Northern, Raymond Wallace, Jr., Savannah Wallace, Justin Cunningham, Erica Wilkerson Price, Breana Fitzgerald, Nick Wilkerson, Michael Williams III and Jamier Norfleet; and his siblings, Juanita Miller, Jane Law (Noel) and George Ronald "Ronnie" Wilkerson. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
