He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert L. McCreary and Lucille E. McCreary (Beach); and his brother Russell L. McCreary. He is survived by: his wife Helen Lela Ellis (Ellis) of Clarksville; his daughter Donna D. McCreary of Charlestown; and his grandson James Patrick Bowen of Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Community Presbyterian Church, Charlestown.
