He was predeceased by: his parents, Norris Lyle and Maye Ruth Wharton (Bradford); and his former wife Mary Ann Jensen. He is survived by: his children, Sue Chitty (Ken) of Clarks Hill and John Dale Wharton (Anita) of Lafayette; his siblings, Jim Wharton of Atlanta, GA, Tim Wharton of Argos, IN and Barbara Laney of Kalamazoo, MI; his grandsons, Blake Wharton (Steph) and Matt Chitty; and his great grandchildren, Max, Khloe, Karly and Damein.
