He was predeceased by: his mother Noy Stapleton (Ewing); his daughters, Debra Kay Stapleton and Patricia Lynn Hale (Robert Martin); and his siblings, Willard, Jerry Stapleton, Lorrean Thomas, Geneva Napier and Jeanette Stapleton.
He is survived by: his father Andrew Stapleton; his wife Shirley Ann Stapleton (Lamb); and his grandchildren, Kenzie Nicole Hale of Cicero and Evan Robert Hale of Cicero. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
