He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry "Bud" Loy and Ruth Loy (Cotterman); his wife Carol; his son Joe Gearte; and his brother Terry Loy.
He is survived by: his close friend Margaret Wayer; his sons, Jimmy Loy and Jason Loy (Chasity); and his siblings, Diann "Sue" Blackmon (Steve), Pat Dafforn (Jack), Kristy Lesh (Curt), Pam Getty (Andy) and Rick Cotterman (Sheri). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
