He was predeceased by : his parents, Claude Howell and Mary Emma Howell (Pekinpaugh); his siblings, Margaret Sabelhaus, Donald and Andrew; and his stepmother Myrtle Howell.
He is survived by : his wife Lucille (Bays); his children, Claudia DuPont (Daniel) of Tell City, Lora Purcell (Michael Scott) of Tell City and Eddy Howell (Jennifer) of Murphysboro, Illinois.; and his grandchildren, Mandy Flohr (Chris), Zachary DuPont (Mistie), Seth DuPont (Samantha), Hannah Ratcliffe (Cory), Shayne Howell (Emily), Wesley Howell, Tyler Howell, Drew Howell (Hannah), Michael Ray Purcell (Laura) and Kayla Purcell. He is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
