He was predeceased by: his wife Lois Detzer (Tabelman); his son David Detzer; his grandson Dane Detzer; and his siblings, Paul Detzer, Bob Detzer and Mary Jones.
He is survived by: his sons, Don Detzer (Jennifer) of Tennyson, IN, Dirk Detzer of Jasper, IN and Dwayne Detzer of Chrisney, IN; and his sister Helen Frazier of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
