She was predeceased by: her parents, Kyran Doherty and Mary Ann Doherty (Hampton); her husband John A. Shanahan; her sisters, Joyce Purcell and Lillian Lernihan; her daughter Mary Einoder; and her daughter-in-law Cari Shanahan.
She is survived by: her children, Kyran "KJ" Shanahan (Peggy) of Grapevine, Texas, Sally Wasserman of Lincolnwood, Illinois, Joseph Shanahan (Jennifer) of Chicago, Illinois, William Shanahan (Adena) of La Porte, Indiana and Paul Shanahan (Amy) of Oswego, Illinois; her grandchildren, Ari, Colleen, Danny, Elisa, Katie, Michael, Sheila, Tara and Vivian; and her great grandchildren, Amber, Eleanor and Paige.
