It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert L. Laramie of Chesterton, Indiana, who passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Laramie and Marie Laramie; his wife Rhea Laramie; his son Joseph Laramie; and his sisters, Mary Underwood, Dorothy Gray and Elizabeth Cooke.
He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Murphy (Mark), Robert L. Laramie, Jr. (Diane), Jim Castaldi (Linda), Ken Castaldi (Beth), Kat Castaldi (Rob Hultgren) and Randi Gift (Thomas); his grandchildren, Brandi Bartman, Kyle Laramie (Brianna), Anthony Laramie, Stephanie Laramie, Jessi Dewberry (Jeff), Nathan Castaldi (Nina), Mike Castaldi (Jenn), Jason Castaldi (Alexis Wilson), Christi Dawson, Tara Nicholson (John), Justin Murphy, Ryan Hanell, Amber Hanell (Mitch Williams), Drew Hultgren, Eric Hultgren and Jakob Hultgren; and his siblings, Ray Laramie (Sharon), Jack Laramie (Pat), Ralph Laramie (Carol) and Patricia Mareachen (Robert). He is also survived by 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel (5341 Central Ave, Portage, IN 46368). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Portage Township Food Pantry.
