He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ray Mayfield and Julie Fleck. He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Mayfield (Leah), John "Nick" Mayfield and Jennifer Lenz; his grandchildren, Evan, Johnny, Jaclynn, Justine, Joey and Stephanie; and his siblings, Carl Mayfield and Donna Williams. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Although fighting Alzheimers in his last couple of years, John never failed to say how lucky he felt and how happy he was with the life he lived and the path he had taken.
