He was predeceased by: his father Robert Griffin; and his sister Kathy Read. He is survived by: his mother Bernice Griffin (Skora) of Chesterton; his children, Kaitlyn Griffin (Craig Osborn) of Portage and Michael Griffin of Chesterton; and his siblings, Robert Griffin (Julie) of Colorado and Patricia Williams of Chesterton. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends.
