He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Cales and Virgie Mae Cales; his son Manfred H. Cales; and his brothers, Ivan Cales and Kenneth Cales.
He is survived by: his spouse Gertraud A. Cales; his daughter Barbara J. Cales; his grandchildren, Danielle N. Cales (Aaron), Charlotte M. Baldwin (Bob), Susanne T. Cales, Olivia, Miles and Penelope; and his sister Juanita Meadows.
