She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Kelly and Gertrude Kelly (Healy); her children, Thomas P. Thorstad and Susan Hugus; her sisters, Mary Kelly, Virginia Kindelin (James) and Frances Leist (Russell); her brothers-in-law, Robert C. Thorstad and Joseph Connery; and her granddaughter Lara Wallace.

She is survived by: her husband James Thorstad Sr.; her children, James Thorstad Jr. (Lauren) of Chesterton, John Thorstad (Laura) of Valparaiso, Janice Edquist (Daniel) of LaPorte, Kate "Kitty" Wallace of Valparaiso, Barbara Warwick (Phillip) of Melbourne, FL and Patricia Zosso of Chesterton; her daughter-in-law Kathleen Hedge (Bob) of Melbourne, FL; her sister Patricia Connery of Elmhurst, IL; her sister-in-law Pat Thorstad; and her children, Chris and Bill of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren with one on the way and many nieces and nephews.
