It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred Amelia Slatten of Charlestown, Indiana, born in Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on October 3, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Milton Powell and Lucy Bomar Powell; her siblings, Lucy Whalin and John Powell; her children, John Bates of New Washington, IN, Brian Bates of Charlestown and Cindy Bates; her sister Bennie Wyatt of Jeffersonville, IN; her grandchildren, James Early, Jennifer Bates Long, Joshua Bates, Megan Padgham, Christian Bates and Zack Bates; and her great grandchildren, Megan Waters, Raylan Long and Eli Bates.
