It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carroll H. Schafer of Charlestown, Indiana, born in Sellersburg, Indiana, who passed away on December 17, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Schafer and Marie Wessel Schafer; his former wife Dorothy Schafer; his granddaughter Ashley Robison; and his brother Jerome Schafer.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Krebs Schafer of Charlestown; his daughters, Mary Cochran (Tim) of New Washington and Carolyn Cutshall of Underwood, IN; his siblings, Kathleen Lentz of Jeffersonville, IN and Clifford Schafer of Charlestown; his grandson Tim "Splinter" Cochran (Sara) of New Washington; his grandson-in-law Jacob Robison of Sellersburg; his great grandchild Avynne Cochran; and his stepchildren, Melinda Ross of California, Tina Watson (Guy) of Tennessee, Alice Stamp (Bruce) of Marysville, IN and Wayne Priddy (Pam) of Borden, IN. He is also survived by 9 step grandchildren and 12 step-great grandchildren.
