She was predeceased by: her parents, Pirtle Ashby and Jessie Blanchard Ashby; her husband Chancey Van Griffin; her daughter Janie Shain; and her son-in-law Bobby Carter.
She is survived by: her daughter Jan Carter (David Duvall) of Charlestown; her granddaughter Farrah Bower (Bob) of Sellersburg, IN; her siblings, Kelly Baker of Montana, Larry Ashby of Charlestown and Delbert Ashby of Clarksville, IN; and her son-in-law David Shain of Sellersburg.
