He was predeceased by: his parents, Emery "Lee" Helsley and Marie "Avis" Helsley (Jones); his brother Allan Jager; and his aunts, Nita Hansen, Sherry Jones and Emma Hockenberry.

He is survived by: his sons, Terry Helsley II, Conan Helsley and Kyle Helsley; his grandchildren, Joel, Zoey, Caleb, Brayden, Braxden and Kaylee; his siblings, Tim Helsley, Kevin Helsley (Holly) and Kerry Helsley; and his uncles, Steve (Penny Lipford), Wayne (Beth Bryant), Tom Jones and Roy Hansen.
