He was predeceased by: his father Glenn C. Wheeler; and his brother Michael W. Wheeler. He is survived by: his wife Tammy; his daughter Becci Giddings (Mark); his brother Terry (Mary); his nephew Jeffery Wheeler (Tina); and his granddaughter Leah Giddings.
