He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Abney and Vena Evans Abney; and his wife Patricia Ann Abney. He is survived by: his children, Chris Abney (Lisa) of Newburgh and Cindy Abney of Chandler; his grandchildren, Amanda Lindsey, Taylor Abney, Eileen Lafferty and Bridget Lafferty; his great grandchild Graylon Tepe; and his sister Helen Hoover (Bill) of Owensboro.
